At Mezcal Verde Amarás we choose to work with different artists whose work reflects a vision of the contemporary world beyond the clichés of the collective imagination. On this occasion, Sofía Tormenta intervenes one of our labels with the purpose of sharing her vision of art and its environment.

“For me, the moment before creation and the process is richer than the end of creation itself,” says Sofía Tormenta. “Then there is the part of body development, which is what makes me feel freer as an artist; dance, expression, timing, and breathing.

Sofia's interest in art did not arise from searching, experimenting or trying new horizons. She describes her career as a natural way of life, as she was born in an artistic environment in Argentina. Her parents were artists and adopting this discipline as a life choice was inevitable.

Sofía Tormenta could concentrate her experience as a visual artist, audiovisual director, cartoonist and performer in constant transition, dancing between opposite sides to create and reinvent herself; she rightly maintains that learning is eternal and seeking learning is the true humility of the human being.

Breaking old patterns, breaking the established, breaking the silence

As an artist, Sofía wants to make us rethink what we want to stop repeating, what we want to never experience again and from that, stop, create, constantly innovate and generate experiences.

The black and white colors, acrylic, oil, Indian ink and brushes of his art, capture the simplicity of his nature, he prefers little instead of abundance. His search is to clean old patterns, things that do not belong to him and move towards lightness, always.
